The date on the file that contains the login info for this blog is dated Sep 12, 2005. It’s been almost 3 years since I created this blog, and haven’t used it. Yesterday I read part of the article in Wired about the queen of self-promotion online, Julia. Today I’m reading “How to Get Rich” by Felix Dennis. In particular I’ve gotten to “Harnessing the Fear of Failure” (chapter 3).
I’ve been thinking about this for a while. I believe that we all have an overblown fear of failure. This is rooted in the fear of looking dumb, or losing other’s respect. And the irony is that we’re all so worried about what other people think about us, that we don’t have time, nor do we really care much, when others actually do something stupid. That is to say, all the people I may be afraid of being judged by are too busy worrying about being judged to actually judge me.
So, time to start blogging.
